Rock & Rawhide , a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that aims to increase adoptions for dogs and cats in shelters by providing toys and other items that serve as a form of distraction therapy, reducing the stress and noise levels. This shelter has hundreds of dogs and cats coming and going on a daily basis and need our help!

We might not get the variety of a New Jersey autumn but we do get major numbers of species that winter in South America. In doing so, they have provided food and shelter for thousands of migrant birds along with habitat for hundreds of resident birds and other players in the local Talamanca rainforest ecosystem.

I was glad I had my spotting scope with me and that I had practice spotting ‘Buffies’ from hours of searching sod fields in Long Island and New Jersey. Many birders left at the first drops, but I crowded with a few other birders under the shelter of the volunteer kiosk. It was amazing.

The Refuge has also become a place where people can experience and learn about wildlife and the places they call home, whether through self-guided discovery or by participating in one of our many educational programs. New Jersey/New York. The refuge is already open to migratory bird hunting and sport fishing.

NEW JERSEY – Animal shelters are full, they have no space, they often have no money, and they have a small amount of dedicated volunteers. There is an estimated 3-4million pets euthanized each year in US animal shelters. There is a strong lack of homes willing to open their doors to fostering a shelter pet.
