Birds became my way to escape from the stressful feeling of being trapped and having no information when we could be released. We checked into a hotel available in front of the police blockade. Birds became my lifeline.

Sniping: The Final Frontier?

It toyed with my emotions for many minutes before it eventually flew off. The underside of the bird’s wings held all the information – it’s uniform grey/brown on Wilson’s but mixed with white for South American. How can one not love that face? After having a sip of some water, just before disappearing.

The Philippine Eagle has a kind face.
