Hide at Mankwe Dam

Southern Grey-headed Sparrow , Cape Wagtails and Common Bulbuls used the screen or nearby snags as perches to see who was coming along the walkway. Mammals seen; African Elephant, Brindled Wildebeeste, Giraffe, Hippopotamus, Warthog, Impala, Springbok. All this was seen before I even stepped into the hide.

Madikwe; Paradise Restored

Madikwe has perhaps too many elephants. Black-backed Jackals are awesome and smaller than you’d think. But they are very cute!

Lesser Goldfinches, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Vesper Sparrows, Lincoln Sparrows, White-crowned Sparrow, Clay-colored Sparrows , and lots and lots of Mourning Doves have taken up residence in what used to be open water.
