While having somebody else raise your chicks like an attractive strategy to me, it is not without dangers. The rather elegant-looking Tiger Shrike also mostly feeds on insects but was not kind enough to let me take a video or photo of this (the species thinks that such recordings may result in a negative public image).

As we gazed upwards at those backlit migratory warblers, I noticed a Bare-throated Tiger-Heron … nesting! Then, around 4:00 p.m., And yet, there it was.

Feral Cats Are An Invasive Species in North America (and elsewhere)

As she continued her monologue about these cats, the Wildcat cautiously walked in our direction, never taking its eyes off of us, stiff-legged, ears motionless, striped like a standard “tiger” domestic cat but entirely in grays. I once knew a guy who kept and raised cats. He also had tigers, cougars, and some other animals.
