So, maybe not be the best place to visit for monks suffering from depression. It might be about time for HBW to document this split as well … not sure why they do not update this. But it seems the birds like this habitat, probably as this is a rare more open area on these otherwise mostly heavily forested hills.

According to the HBW, sounds and vocal behavior are poorly documented while there is no information on incubation and fledging periods, and the behavior section only has the rather lame statement “General behavior much for others of the genus.” ” The Common Green Magpie fortunately does not look common at all.

By carrying out a slaughter system that greatly reduces the suffering of chickens, Bell & Evans and Mary’s Chickens show that animal welfare and good business go hand in hand. While ever more consumers are going vegetarian or vegan, almost every consumer is demanding that companies take steps to reduce animal suffering.

I think this is why I understand the thinking of people who don't want us to use animals but who promote changing the way we use them to decrease their numbers or their suffering. I understand the impulse to do " something " that alters the number of animals created to be used and killed and the suffering of the ones created.

In fact, animals used for food do suffer a great deal. Not only are they killed in cruel ways, but it is well documented that they are raised in ways that cause them great discomfort and agony. Now there is no doubt that the actual treatment of animals used for food is immoral, that animals are made to suffer needlessly.

He clearly thinks that it is wrong to cause animals to suffer unnecessarily, but he appears to be somewhat ambivalent about killing animals (provided the killing is carried out humanely). I suspect that underlying his thinking here is a common rationalization that many of my students initially embrace.
