The area has a law in place to prevent attracting deer, you can have a bird feeder, but you can’t offer food on the ground. Granted, the law is written poorly, but the man was given several warnings and insisted on feeding birds on the ground and attracted huge flocks of ducks and no doubt raccoons at night. Your tax dollars?

Only one bird species has become extinct (Javan Lapwing), but many others are endangered, with some considered close to extinction (not surprising in an area with species restricted to one or two small islands).
