As these geese spread naturally as nesting birds through the Baltic, then into Denmark and Holland, it’s hardly surprising that they should appear in Eastern England. It’s less than 200 miles from the Suffolk coast to that of the Netherlands, an easy flight for a powerful migratory bird such as this goose.

Between Walpole and Denmark there are some great walking trails with spectacular views and the photo above is from the Conspicuous Cliffs , which you can reach in a conventional vehicle. There were several adult Pacific Gulls out at sea collecting food while the juvenile Pacific Gulls stayed close to shore. Pied Oystercatchers.

Ottenby Nature Reserve is run by The Swedish Ornithological Society and visitors can observe researchers collecting data and birds being caught in the mist nest and funnel traps on site. The Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen, Denmark (she turned 100 in 2013!). This is truly a bird-lovers dream-destination.
