This is my least favorite feeder of the group, partly for this reason. Its product brochures and website offer tips on bird feeding, and suggestions on how to turn your yard into a safe place for birds, including keeping cats indoors. The Mini feeder is a more complicated to open; you basically have to take the feeder apart.

This year will be tough on many birds as further mudflat destruction to construct factories in China means that they may not be able to feed in areas that they have known in the past. Cats Are Still Public Enemy Number One, For Birds The New York Times and Tweety have it absolutely correct. Wicked, right? Hat-tip to Stella.
