Thave a friend who is working for a NGO that wants to combine emotional intelligence courses/ therapy with animals. It is intended for b2b, so these courses are for employees. Basically when these courses are being held, there will be also animals that day at the office (dogs, cats, small animals from local shelter).

Case in point: some of my family members have become active with feral cat colony organizations. It started with donation requests for spay and neutering cats but then quickly transferred to a trap, neuter and release organization. On the one hand, it’s better than doing nothing with a feral cat colony.

However, many of our concerns about modern food production stem from purely emotional concerns, in which we try to overlay our social mores onto sectors where they traditionally haven’t been applied. Of course, I have an emotional attachment to that one individual, Violet Rays. The average person doesn't fund programs that cost $8,000 per cat. Or paid for food for a year at a rescue kennel. Or printed thousands of copies of vegan leaflets. Helping individuals, financially-speaking, isn't a great use of money.

Which, of course, is entirely wrong. In the finest tradition of Romanticism, gulls dwell in the mystic world of dark and morbid imagery and emotions, which is expressed in often eroticized ways of aesthetic self-dramatization*. Starting with Casey and Arrow, our keepers in the woods, our family would keep cats and dogs. He was drawn to their innocence, and their pure emotions. We both loved them, but it was Peter who seemed to communicate with the animals on a deeper level than anyone else we knew.
