Fortunately for we humans, placing primates properly phylogenetically in relation to the other mammals requires an act or two of faith at the deeper ends of the family tree, but it is probably true that primates and rodents share a common stock to the exclusion of others, so maybe we are all mice. Nor do camels. Cows do not.

Sadly the outcome from here is often chick loss from predation, but for now we will enjoy observing the two families of Pied Oystercatchers as they wander the dunes and come down to the ocean to feed when there are less people around. Odd family trees, the Hippopotamus is closely related to whales, dolphins and porpoises, the elephant is closely related to manatees, dougongs (reasonable), and the little rock hyrax, yes a little mountain loving hamster is related to the thickest b h in the land, also horses are closely related to rhinos and tapirs.

The strategy that this pair use is to lay eggs in a busy area which has good views of the surrounding area, which means watching nudists, camel rides, vehicles on the beach and everything else that goes on! All of the green coloured round shrubs are commonly called Spinifex, but it is in fact a member of the Triodia family and it is important to be careful of getting any of the leaf tips caught in your skin, because it can easily lead to an infection.
