This bird used to be quite common in Germany, but now it is rare. The Olive-backed Pipit is a small songbird that in Shanghai can only be seen in winter – in summer, it breeds further north. The Red-flanked Bluetail is only in Shanghai in winter, as it breeds far further North – even further than Beijing.
