Naming a bird species for the part of the world in which it breeds or resides makes sense. Even Canada Warbler (which should really be rechristened Necklaced Warbler ) breeds almost entirely in Canada, which is far more than can be said for the Canada Goose ! NAMED FOR PLACES.

Connecticut Warbler - The next-to-last of the expected wood-warblers to get added to my Queens list. The thought of identifying certain groups of birds can incapacitate them. Compared to something like a Connecticut Warbler , they are just begging to be looked at. See, it’s not so scary!
