In 2008, with my family decided to build the Limneo Lodge , a small accommodation with only 9 rooms. With more than 312 so far recorded bird species, Lake Kerkini National Park offers great birding year-round. Other important breeding species include Black and White Stork , Lesser Spotted , White-tailed , and Booted Eagle.

August is possibly the best month there, because you gradually observe the rise and fall of numbers of various migrating species, which use it as a stopover site to fatten up ahead of the long hauls further south. On several occasions, early in the morning a Brown Hare would greet me, and once a Wild Boar waved me goodbye.

By the time we reached the Upper Thomson Road we had a spent three hours sauntering through the park and had a list of over forty bird species. We had not expected to see too many bird species on this short walk, but sometimes these short walks can have a surprise or two. Singapore is a great place to enjoy the woodpecker family.

Sharks cruise off the city’s beaches, and just yesterday a deadly species of snake was found in a suburban railway station. The chicks, which were about the size of chickens, had brown and fawn striped plumage reminding me of the colours of young wild boars. The family on a peaceful moment. Check out those claws!

On her own, two months ago, she took down a big, old and experienced Indian Boar , who already had some old tiger claw scars. Conservation endangered species India Mammals tiger' They are 20 months old, as big as their mother, but not as heavy. The fourth one is missing – she is the adventurer among them. The other two are motionless.
