In 2008, with my family decided to build the Limneo Lodge , a small accommodation with only 9 rooms. Also, there are more than 44 species of mammals: Otter , Wildcat , Grey Wolf , Beech Martens , Wild Boar , and Golden Jackal. My name is Nikos Gallios. Greater Flamingos stay at the lake in their thousands.

A family of Eurasian Sparrowhawks showed well on several occasions, than there was one Black Kite , and up to five White-tailed Eagles at once. On several occasions, early in the morning a Brown Hare would greet me, and once a Wild Boar waved me goodbye. Also, a European Roller and a Turtle Dove made their appearances, too.

It’s the boar hunting season. The soil is disturbed by foraging boars (and there is not a single shot from those hunters). By the cliffs we find several Eurasian Crag-Martins and a consolation species – a family of Golden Eagles in the air! One Grey-headed Woodpecker flies across the road – a promising start.

Two Wild Boars crossed our path, returning from the arable field where they fed overnight, to the safety of Beljarica. Head back to the town of Opovo and ask for the Kod Bobe Restaurant (Chez Boba), a second generation in the same family and the best restaurant in the region.

There were wild boars and monitors rustling through the leaves as well as the plantain squirrels that we had become so accustomed to. Singapore is a great place to enjoy the woodpecker family. The walk trail at Lower Peirce Reservoir is only 900 metres long and it is a boardwalk. Banded Woodpecker.

The chicks, which were about the size of chickens, had brown and fawn striped plumage reminding me of the colours of young wild boars. The family on a peaceful moment. The whole effect was capped off literally by a bony casque that looked ancient and weathered. Check out those claws!

On her own, two months ago, she took down a big, old and experienced Indian Boar , who already had some old tiger claw scars. They are 20 months old, as big as their mother, but not as heavy. The fourth one is missing – she is the adventurer among them. These are my first wild tigers ever! The closer one raises her head, than lies back.
