Many pet owners are able to enjoy their pets for the entire duration of the animal’s life. This is great news for owners who have pets who have a long life span, such as dogs, cats and many other creatures. However, it becomes a problem for the animal when the owner decides that he can no longer keep the pet.

A month or so ago I stated my intention to alter the way I blog and one thing I wanted to get back into that I did for a brief time last year was podcasting. During a brief moment of insanity after the death of my pet kitty Brady in 1991 (at the age of 17), I attended Vermont Law School to study Environmental Law.

In literature as well as life, the ideal is the safely rescued animal finds the perfect home and becomes the perfect pet. My second favorite rescue story is that of Hunter, a beagle-ish dog that my daughter and son-in-law adopted from a shelter in Massachusetts.
