From the Seattle PI. Fish and Wildlife Service granted a permit March 9 to the Northern Arapaho Tribe allowing it either to kill or capture and release two bald eagles this year. The Northern Arapaho share the Wind River Indian Reservation in central Wyoming with the Eastern Shoshone Tribe.

We will cover nearly 3000 miles driving before we reach Seattle, and our final stop. We had already planned on at least one night in Eugene, and spending a day at Fern Ridge Wildlife Area. In addition to those new birds, there were several Common Loons, Buffleheads, Red-breasted Mergansers, Herring Gulls , and Western Gulls.

The two most prolific contributors, Pat and Tom, have been sharing their birding space in Costa Rica. The beats have now contributed more checklists than birds. During October, 7 countries (Costa Rica, Australia, USA, India, Hong Kong, UK, Serbia) were birded by 11 beats who shared 135 checklists and noted 697 species.
