The training exercise called bear baying is intended to make the bears easier to shoot in the wild and it's only allowed in South Carolina. Animal rights advocates say it's cruel to the nearly defenseless bears and harms them psychologically. Statutes banning animal fighting have a specific exemption for dog training.

It did not sound human so I am wondering what type of animal it may be. I am in the upper part of South Carolina in a developed neighborhood with lots of woods behind us. I took my dog out last night around 1 AM and was frightened by this low pitch screaming sound coming from off in the distance.

She got bit on her foot by a bug of some kind. It’s a small, barely visible dot on her skin. It looks like there’s two right next to each other, but it doesn’t itch. It hurts around the bite area, and she occasionally gets a sharp stinging pain, and is slightly puffy. What did she get bit by?
