I really want an animal but my parents are divorced so move between the houses every week, I rather don’t have a pet then a pet that isn’t happy. I have been looking for dwarf hamsters or some kind of bird but I also have school and sports and activities after school some days in the week.

trigger warning for animal death neglect abuse and torture Please please please for the love of God or whatever you believe in do NOT buy animals from them. Hamsters also need to be housed alone and need around 3ft of space. Not only that but the places they get the animals from are actually horrifying. Each other.

Pet sales would be banned altogether, except for the sale of pet fish. All companion animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, mice, rats, chinchillas, guinea pigs, birds, snakes, and lizards would be considered as pets. I can't believe the pet industry would allow such legislation without a fight.

Have you considered keeping goats as pets? Cats and dogs are the most popular pets, along with hamsters, rabbits and guinea pigs also being amongst the favourites. If you want a slightly unusual pet that has lots of personality and can also be petted, consider keeping a couple of goats.

Choosing the right pet for your child is key. Children can learn so many valuable lessons by caring for a pet. Having pets at a young age instills kids with a sense of confidence that they can take care of an animal and help it to live a thriving life.
