Erubbermaids “Roughneck” homes create the perfect winter sanctuary for feral cats Opossums, raccoons and skunks. Feral cats are exposed to cold temperatures, wind and freezing rain in the winter. As the name suggests, they rescue rabbits, but they also rescue other small animals like ferrets, and other small rodents. Our first rescue mission was at a business park in Redmond where we saved 650 feral rabbits from the ultimate fate of the arriving bulldozers. Rabbit Meadows is a rescue group out of Seattle.

The general public is out and about, birds and animals are raising their young, and human/wildlife interaction is at its peak. I wish for a federal law prohibiting domestic and feral cats from roaming free outdoors. It’s August, and first on the menu is: Fried Rehabber. Summer is high season. Change in Law. That’s easy!”

They are all wonderful people and they are all animal lovers. But I’ve learned we love animals in very different ways. Case in point: some of my family members have become active with feral cat colony organizations. On the one hand, it’s better than doing nothing with a feral cat colony.
