The conference is to be held from July 23-26 in Washington, DC. Someday, I hope to attend one of these conferences. It looks like they have some great workshops with people like Gene Bauer from Farm Sanctuary and Nicole Pollata from the Animal Legal Defense Fund (ALDF.). Tags: humane society conferences.

California's Ag Industry Worried that State Committee will Focus on "Emotion"

Basically, it sounds like the ag committee will be including food safety and animal welfare concerns in their discussions. The panel is now known as the Food and Agriculture Committee, and the new chairman is Dean Florez, Steinberg revealed at a news conference Jan. The ag industry does NOT like this.

South Dakota Governor Wants Livestock Research Facility

This looks like its for farming of livestock, not medical research, but that's bad too. Research on animals is research on animals. Mike Rounds wants a biotech animal research facility built in South Dakota. Rounds says a biotech facility is important in creating disease-free animals. From the High Plains Journal.
