A paper describes how a Golden Snub-nosed Monkey (which looks a bit like somebody had kicked Donald Trump in the nose, which in itself may probably not be such a bad idea) ate three Chinese Babax chicks from a nest in Shennongjia National Park. Maybe the species has shrunk in the past few decades.

It is technically correct, and recently fashionable, to insist that any living animal is a member of the larger group that contains it phylogenetically, i.e., ancestrally, with that group often named after the known animal that roots the tree. So, for example, humans are apes. And smaller. And smaller. Until turkey size or so.

The male looks much more interesting, but that does not help this blog post much. And the last notable animals we saw were a troupe of Rhesus Macaques on the roadside. I still do not like monkeys very much. According to the HBW, this species is relatively rare and may be upgraded (or is it downgraded?) So undignified.

A Little Forktail auditioned for a prominent role in a future blog post “Cartoon Birds – The Sequel” “Were there Leaf Warblers as well”, you ask? Among all mammals, I think I like monkeys the least. Due to massive use of Lightroom on my side, you can even see some of the red color of the animal.
