I (F14) have been dealing with my brother (M15) hurting and cussing out my dog My brother started to hate my dog back in I believe 2018, he was all nice with him before then, but them I guess puberty hit and he started to hate him. It got worse and worse as time went on, especially bad after in 2019 we got my second dog lily.

A little further, there’s a family group of Savannah Elephants with two two-year olds. From 2020 to 2022, that figure was lower, about 500 animals per year, but is it because of better safety measures or fewer and consequently harder to locate quarries? The two dogs walk right next to our rover and disappear in the dark.

Eight years later, Christian Cooper birding Central Park became a very different kind of media image: the black man falsely accused by a white woman of threatening her life after asking her to leash her dog in the Ramble, an area where unleashed dogs are not allowed. It was the same day George Floyd was killed. I remember that day.

Except in the sad year of 2020, when Lake Cuitzeo had almost entirely dried up by January 1st.) The same can be said, to a lesser extent, for the shorebirds, New World sparrows, warblers, and many other families. Sure, the dog didn’t count for our eBird list. And in my case, that means heading up to Lake Cuitzeo.

I should add that the Big Owls taking over NYC social and even hard print media, dominating conversations with my nonbirder friends and family, are not the only owls in the five boroughs, but like a musical, the closer you are to Broadway, the closer you are to fame and fortune (and maybe even a higher quality rodent for dinner, who knows?).
