The Lesser White-fronted Goose is not only rare in Serbia, but also overlooked among numerous Greater White-fronted Geese. The decrease in numbers has been accompanied by fragmentation of the breeding range and is continuing to affect all populations. Disturbance on breeding grounds (e.g. Common Pochard Aythya ferina.

The species was seemingly killed off by feather hunters, but then, after years, reappeared at the site of one of the deserted breeding colonies, Torishima Island in Japan. Since the election in 2016, Merriam-Webster has experienced something of a cultural resurgence. Swan : “any of various large heavy-bodied long-necked mostly pure white aquatic birds (family Anatidae, especially genus Cygnus ) that have webbed feet and are related to but larger than the geese.”. But I’m no lexicographer.
