Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan

10,000 Birds

On the first trip in 2012 we used public transport to get there and the train conveniently gets you to Macarthur Square shopping centre and you can then get a bus that drops you right at the entrance to the park. We encountered one crossing the road in 2012, but with the cooler weather this year there was less turtle activity.

4 The Love Of Animals

The litter consists of two males and one female. These births are critical to help preserve the species. These newborn cubs will add to the genetic diversity of the Malayan tiger population and contribute to conservation efforts for the species. CBC Shenanigans

10,000 Birds

I expected to learn a thing or two and possibly see some birds I had never seen before.

10,000 Birds

We did have the good fortune of finding an individually marked Bar-tailed Godwit that was marked in Yalu Jiang Nature Reserve in China last April 15th and was last seen there on May 11th 2012. I expect he has done some travelling in the period from May 2012 to February 2013! Shorebird roost at Toorbul. Apostlebirds drying off.

Birding Gunung Gede on a weekend without suffering a mental break-down, part 1

10,000 Birds

I was very fortunate to visit the park twice, once in April 2012 and just recently in November 2013, and can fully confirm that the birding is epic. Little Pied Flycatchers are amongst the most aptly-named bird species: they are little, they are pied, and they catch flies. No need to despair if a weekend visit is all you can organize.
