The group has more than 7,000 volunteers locally who do this. FixNation sterilizes more than 70 cats each day and will have successfully trapped, neutered and returned 80,000 cats by the summer of 2012. To date, there are 7,076 volunteer trappers and caregivers that have embraced FixNation and contributed to these results.

Invasive species in Australia

Feral cats have been able to adapt very well in Australia and have grown larger over the years and can survive in areas that you would not expect. Feral cat predation on Pied Oystercatcher eggs. On another occasion in 2012 we had four Rock Doves on a power line in town. They are incredibly cunning and not easily trapped.

Jochen’s 2014 Year List

In a funny twist of fate, it seems that 2014 will be much the same as 2012 and 2013 have been, with family trips to somewhere in France and business trips to Indonesia and Kazakhstan. The biggest surprise is a small group of 4 Snow Buntings, very unusual for the Mediterranean coast but apparently not unheard of in the Camargue.
