The consumption of wild animals, which slowed amid the SARS epidemic in 2003, has once again gained popularity, a WWF survey has found. Illegal trade in tiger meat and bones is also alive, continuing to threaten the extinction of an already depleted species, he said. Up to 20 percent of these are now considered threatened.

Here in Colorado many species are affected, but perhaps none more than our beautiful Mountain Plovers and Ferruginous Hawks. This was back in 2003 so it is hard to say where those numbers fall now.

Following passage of the United States Endangered Species Preservation Act of 1966, the California Condor ( Gymnogyps californianus ) was among the first 75 species listed for protection, the so-called “Class of 1967”. A portion of all draft and bottle sales of Condor Kolsch will be donated to these programs.

They were denied contracts by HHS back in 2003 due to what the government said was an insufficient response for their RFP. from the Dept. of Defense since 2000. Signed on 2005-08-12.
