My dog chased a skunk that was in our yard all the way to the other side of the fence. My dog was too big to make it through the same route that the skunk got through and so they were stuck on opposite ends. at first i thought it was for no reason, and that the skunk was long gone by now but it actually wasn’t.

The scent of skunk that perfumed one portion of the path at Pelham Bay Park seemed to foretell a skunking for us. The Barred Owl was sitting in its usual tree right out in the open. We still needed Barred Owl ! We scoured the area hard but turned up no owl. Then my phone rang.

At any rate, my brief visit to Sepilok showed me that it is a worthy destination in its own right. I don’t know much about stink-badgers, except that they are possibly closer to skunks than badgers, but seeing any of the poorly known carnivores of Asia’s forests is always a privilege. A pair of mating vipers.
