That’s a threatened habitat, and one much sought after by wildlife enthusiasts. Rather than the usual dismal waiting area there were comfortable seats and drinks, and when our transports arrived, we were placed in two large four wheel drives rather than one, so that we wouldn’t feel cramped. The Poo Ponds were very productive and the wildlife was making the most of the water available and the shade provided by the excavating equipment. Wallaby seeks shelter beside an excavator. Our first delay was one of the many iron ore trains that transport the ore to the coast from inland. Waiting for a long train!
