With the Wildebeest migration (calving season is January to February), this park is considered to offer one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world. Most of them were Lesser Flamingos , with over a million birds present at times. Serengeti National Park.

While the species sounds delicious, the nearly tailless bird presents a very bland appearance. I expected fleeting glimpses of chimps if we saw any at all, but my first encounter with these amazing primates in the wild lasted many minutes as our respective groups peered at each other from opposite ends of the road.

Within Nariva Swamp is Bush Bush Wildlife Sanctuary, a sandy, low-lying peninsula populated by palms, strangler figs, and other hardy forest trees. On Bush Bush, the main attraction is undoubtedly the pair of native primate species: Red Howler and (Trinidad) White-fronted Capuchin, the latter being critically endangered.

I was looking out a car window the other day and noticed that of all the wildlife most of it was bird. That presumption may be wrong but I don’t think it matters for the present use of the data.) A squirrel skittered by … a squirrel is not a bird. The following histogram shows the results.
