I want to trap a mouse that lives in my house and keep it as a pet. Otherwise it takes its chances out in the field. What do you all think?

I've had mice come in a few years ago and trapped them (gently) and released them in a field far away but afterwards I read that most mice released like this die very soon trying to live wild. Dad has been feeding it cheese so they're tight I think it watches aircrash investigations with him on TV.
