The species ranges north well into Canada in the summer months, but in the winter they make for the southern coasts or down to Mexico. Migration makes them vulnerable to straying: Accidental Hoary Bats have been found as far afield as Bermuda and Iceland. Shoot, it’s not working! So the Hoary Bat is migratory.
