It is not particularly big but has a reported 430 bird species including migrants, though during my short stay it seems I missed most of the key attractions among them. Poor researchers Nicola Coumi and Rob Slotow failed to find anything particularly interesting about vigilance in Bronze Mannikin groups.

Being charismatic species, Snowy Owls are the focus of the nature-loving community during the winter. Species have value. Most arguments for conserving a species focus on things that we can measure in dollar amounts, such as ecotourism, medical benefits, etc. Snowy Owls have value. However, there is too much focus on “likes.”

The bodies of seven sea lions with bullet wounds were recently found on the Nisqually River. The animal protection group Seal Sitters says a necropsy showed that the sea lion had suffered a shark bite and had twisted intestines in addition to a bullet wound. Investigators say they do not know who is responsible.

Mai Mai rebels are described as community-based militia groups frequently involved in banditry. Another ranger was wounded in the attack and a rebel was captured. They did however show an increased incidence of wounds which the birds were thought to maintain and re-open. Ironically the biggest similarity between the species is their colour (grey). Rhino skin is very tough and despite spending much of their time amongst the thorn bushes, scratches are usually only superficial.
