His traps are numbered and have his name on them so it might be as simple as logging them by basic description and number of the trap.

You may recall that when I took him to the vet (and at that time I thought he was a she) I asked them to check him out and they said he looked fine. And last night, a veterinary surgeon-friend of mine asked for help regarding ferals, and I believe today we are signing up a colony about five miles from me with 50 (!)

The vet did give me a hard time about the dogs' animal-free diets (my traditional vets don't, ironically), and my response was that unless she could show me some research that his particular type of injury needs animal protein to heal, I wasn't going to change anything. been there.

A feral kitten captured and neutered by a small non-profit, somewhat militant organization, was on display at our local Massachusetts Society Prevention of Cruelty Association branch, which often took these feral cats in the hope of finding homes for them. My youngest daughter spotted the exceedingly shy black cat and wanted her.

From the feral cats of Project Treadstone to Charles' back surgery to problems with Violet's Vetsulin (insulin for dogs), we had more than our share of issues. For these reasons, my vet had no problem with me stockpiling Vetsulin. As many of you know, 2009 was chock full of creature-related drama for me.

Turns out the founder of TRC and many the vets who worked in clinic were falconers as well. The previous snowy was a good hunter but unfortunately that owl caught a feral pigeon that had frounce and died not long afterwards–something that could happen with a wild snowy. I learned that I knew nothing of falconry.

The vet confirmed pain, injury and infection from her life on the streets, common afflictions for stray cats. With respect to the stray cat Puck, we eventually learned her name was Jackie. She’d been put outside by neighbors who couldn’t cope with her behavior. They then moved away, leaving her behind for someone else to worry about.
