A Wood Stork lands in a tree, while one Neotropical River Otter swims across and climbs a floating log. Now we were in Finca Tres Equis, a family cocoa farm (if I understood well, it translates as Triple X Farm) and a private reserve of over 300 hectares, of which more than 70 percent is a forest, representing part of a Jaguar corridor.

Personally, I wasn’t happy, but I do not live there and do not have a septic tank in my backyard, so I felt that I have no right to complain against something that would obviously improve the lives of local inhabitants. It was announced that the works should be finished in four months. And that was the last I ever heard from the officials.

In short, it’s exactly the sort of place that a family would visit even if there weren’t a state first record at the top of the mountain. And it just so happened that the solitaire had set up shop right under the swinging bridge. It truly does not get more convenient than that.

They are members of the Parulidae family and Horneros are members of the Furnariidae family, a nice example of parallel evolution. I was practically right next to the two in this photo (and, note the Rufescent Tiger-heron photobomb). Favorite Big Bird: This must be the year of the Jabiru for 10,000 Birds.

That means that as of right now the yardstick I am holding does not exist because there are no yard sticks that are zero long. That will be much better, right? Besides, suffering brings birds, right? I moped all the way to Coney Island where I drove with my family on an outing to the New York Aquarium. Stupid yardstick.
