There’s nothing like a birdy, bird-filled lunch and I’m not talking about some lemon domesticated jungle fowl tagine either (although that is damn good too!). In Costa Rica, there are lots of little, family-owned diners like this one. I mean watching cool birds at close range while enjoying the midday repast.

Water levels are right but the waders are still very scarce. Highlight was probably a White Throated Rock Thrush, but I’m regretting that I didnt try harder to see a Red Jungle Fowl that I heard. Wicked, right? Blue Tailed BeeEater, White Bellied Sea Eagle, White Rumped Shama were other ones I particularly enjoyed.

Most moral vegetarians list fish and fowl as animals one should not eat. KBJ: Nobody in the animal-rights or animal-liberation movement views intelligence as a morally significant property, at least intrinsically. Suppose there is a man who wishes to end his life but regrets never having given his poor and hungry family any pleasure.

This totally crazy bird is the crème de la crème of the cracid family, and besides being endangered (population estimated at under 2,500), its habitat choice of cloudforests on the steep slopes of a few volcanoes and mountains in southern Mexico and south-western Guatemala makes it a tough bird to seek. Secondly, well just look at it.

Not that I haven’t been searching: by now I have a good backlog of bird-bedecked bottles that I’ve picked up over the last few months, just waiting for the right moment to uncork. ” I could very well say the same and so it’s high time to right this error of omission. So I survived. Good birding and drinking!
