If you want to know what happened on August 31, 1984, I can name at least one event: In the Padang-Sugihan Wildlife Reserve in South Sumatra province, a Large Frogmouth was mobbed by a Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, as described here. At between 4 pm and 6 pm, to be exact. Back to birds.

Look at the facts, lay your emotions aside and listen to reason—exactly the same reasoning that’s been so persuasive in convincing me that hunting cranes is the right thing to do. Hunting eagles will not hurt, but enhance non-consumptive wildlife viewing opportunitites. Imagine big flocks of Bald Eagles massing on our wildlife refuges.

New England Reptile Distributers just released a video explaining a terrible incident involving the FWC (Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission). The best moments are when the film simply lets the images do the work and we watch the eagles soar, hunt, and take care of their nest and their totally adorable eaglet, composer David Majzlin’s original music echoing our emotions of wonder. Personally, I would prefer simply the sounds of the rainforest.)

Artwork, photographs, descriptive paragraphs enticed from writers by wildlife biologist and writing instructor Nina Stoyan-Rozenzweig ; all were on display in the assembly hall, where mutual admiration and camaraderie grew by the day. Puffins growl like chainsaws, and one in Britain was seen carrying 62 fish in her beak.

The rare Rufous Fishing Owl was one of the many species seen by the group here. It was completely unharmed as the hunter had climbed a tree to catch it, so we agreed to purchase the poor animal and after taking a few images and ensuring the hunter was gone, we released it and with mixed emotions watched as it climbed high into a massive tree.
