When Is a Dog Unadoptable?

I rejoined my local animal shelter's volunteer program a few months ago (long story as to why I quit in the first place). I had a couple of dogs when I was a kid, but I mostly grew up with cats. I don't believe that any cat is unadoptable, even feral cats. But I'm no dog expert. I have a lot of patience with cats.

The first Pied Oystercatcher chicks of 2018

Pied Oystercatcher chick sheltering under an adult bird. The other pair of Pied Oystercatchers also had their eggs hatch this week and they are in an area with no vehicular traffic, but there are dogs on that section of beach and it is a popular area for walking and more recently fat bike riding through the dunes.

Case in point: some of my family members have become active with feral cat colony organizations. On the one hand, it’s better than doing nothing with a feral cat colony. But I don’t agree with the supplemental feeding that happens with feral cats–if you’re gonna call them wildlife, treat them as such.
