Banded Semipalmated Sandpipers at Big Egg Marsh, Queens, New York

Now that passerine migration has largely wound down the attention of this New York birder has shifted to seabirds, shorebirds, and the occasional trip looking for breeding birds. Instead, I found two banded birds, which I reported of course. When I find out where they were banded I’ll report back. Eh, Semipalmated Sandpipers.

There were ten students in total that had signed up for the spring break “Seabirds” course in Dry Tortugas National Park, and after long drives down from North Carolina we had all made it right on time.
