Grief, friendship, gratitude, wonder, and other things we animals experience. Many animals also display wide-ranging emotions, including joy, happiness, empathy, compassion, grief, and even resentment and embarrassment. Chimpanzees and elephants grieve the loss of family and friends, and gorillas hold wakes for the dead.

They really appeared to enjoy this, because as soon as they swam back to the rocks they would line up again to repeat the experience. OpticsPlanet - Great prices on binoculars for birding , spotting scopes , telescopes , flashlights , compasses & more! It seemed like a really fun way to spend the day! I thought that was clever.

And that means for the animal rights movement: Social entities like compassion, empathy and suffering are very important factors to motivate humans to change their behaviour. I do think that in my lifetime greyhound racing will end, circuses will be animal-free, elephants and marine mammals won't be in zoos, and fur might even be banned.
