A Red-naped Sapsucker and a Townsend’s Warbler

In trying to find further evidence of the warbler’s behaviour and the sapsucker’s lifestyle, I found numerous mentions of Rufous Hummingbirds and “other species” coming to feed from sap wells. Does he vigorously defend his food source? Do warblers regularly visit sap wells?
