Whenever I come here, I am focused on birds, but I have had some good mammal sighting as well: a roe deer swimming across a pond (only its head and antlers visible), a pair of otters playing in the water, a curious (young?) Within its Belt and Road Initiative, China asked for this location for the new harbour.

Vulture Socialism

In any case, the vultures do not seem to have a subscription of Birds of the World, having chosen a wintering location that is well outside the published range map (though admittedly it is mentioned that the vulture winters in Eastern China in very small numbers – three to be exact in the case of Chongming Island). Or just dead ducks?

As usual in China, there are some anonymous Leaf Warbler species – but who cares, apart from Bella of Alpinebirding ? While the HBW claims that the Rufous-gorgeted Flycatcher is uncommon in China, this probably does not apply to this part of Yunnan.

I usually do not write about nationalists, mammals, Donald Trump, and leaf warblers (well, I guess I sometimes do) – but I will make an exception for the Yellow-Browed Warbler … … and the Dusky Warbler. Evil people in Southern China catch the bird and eat it.

Coming from crowded China, it seems incredible to have such a spectacular sight to one’s own … … free to explore every single watchtower. Even the mammals here remind me less of Mr. Trump.
