Different from many other parasitic cuckoos, the chick typically does not kill all its nest mates, though one or two of them may die from starvation. I hope he is right. Unfortunately, the house this nest is built on is about to be destroyed – no tenant rights for birds in China, I am afraid.

It is rumored that one of the researchers later became a software developer. No need to remind us all the time.

What to Do at High Island When the Winds are South

It stops those thousands of migrating birds flying across the Gulf of Mexico and directs them right onto the trees, fields, sanctuaries, beaches along the Bolivar Peninsula, where they hopefully find food and fresh water. I imagined walking right up to them. High Island in April requires Weather, so I was told. Eastern Meadowlark.

Interestingly for me, the research paper calls throwing out the eggs infanticide, which makes me feel a bit queasy as this might potentially be on the wrong side of the Roe vs. Wade (or “Right vs. Wrong”, as The Onion calls it) debate. The point is that I am sure this jacana would agree. but they do.
