Let's deconstruct: Legal experts in China are proposing a ban on the eating of dogs and cats. So the ban isn't being suggested because eating cats and dogs is wrong, but because it's creating conflict.

One of my most vivid memories of watching The Sopranos – still the best TV series ever, in my opinion – is Tony outside barbecuing, occasionally turning the different pieces of meat. On a side note, the bird is also kind of ugly, so maybe the chicks never seeing their father has a certain protective function.

There was a story this morning that did make my blood freeze, and it had nothing to do with four big cats biting the bullet. The elimination of vultures had its own knock on effects, such as the increase in feral dogs (now that there was more meat available for them) and corresponding increase in rabies.
