Pat’s Year List, it’s 2016!

Coming from Niagara Falls, New York, it also means freezing, bitter cold, watching for imaginary Polar Bears while pretending to walk through an Arctic landscape, and looking for owls. Yes, good to be reacquainted but one day of freezing cold was enough, and a reminder to look forward to Costa Rica. So was this Snowy Owl.

Mike doubled up with “smushed”, a new addition to the adjective list.

Wrap-Up of 2012 Big Year Birding

Anthony Collerton also broke a big year record, with 361 species checked off his New York State checklist, breaking the state record of 352 set in 2011 by Richard Fried. Pat O’Donnell was hoping for 600 species in Costa Rica in 2012 and he was at 539 in June and easily cleared 600 but I am not sure what his final total was.
