I came across this 2005 book from the Society & Animals Journal titled Confronting Cruelty Moral Orthodoxy and the Challenge of the Animal Rights Movement. Why and how do people campaign on behalf of a species that is not their own? Tags: animal cruelty books. Sounds interesting.

Animal rights is concerned with preventing the suffering or even use of animals by humans. To quote Wikipedia the effects it has on the body: In humans, the symptoms of poisoning normally appear between 30 minutes and three hours after exposure. But opposition to its use can be understood if you oppose cruelty.

I also wanted you to know about the Who’s Your Good Dog Campaign. Post a picture on Susan Wilson’s Facebook page and explanation of how your dog (or turtle, or human, etc!) She goes to the door, rejects the notion of going out, turns toward her dinner; goes back to the door, because clearly this human is not listening.
