Lucia estuary look like the negative of photo of camels in sand dunes. Apparently, while in Egypt waiting for a boat to return to Germany he collected specimens of the bird which is now named after him. For some reason, these Greater Flamingoes in the St. Never happens to me when I am waiting for a bus.

The first Pied Oystercatcher chicks of 2019

They reside just to the north of the rocks and it is exactly where the camel rides go and also where four-wheel drives are allowed to drive on the beach. The adults collect food from among the vegetation, but also take it in turns travelling down to the shoreline for food.

This plain used to be little affected by humans, being grazed by just a few cattle, goats and camels.

Pied Oystercatcher breeding has started!

With the data we have collected over the years we are hoping to address the predation of eggs by feral cats in the Broome area. This is where the tourists, nudists, dogs, camels, etc all congregate and it is amazing that they even considered it. We had a new pair arrive in a territory about 7kms north four years ago.
