Persistence Pays Off For Burrowing Owls

Above is a photo of the only Burrowing Owl ( Athene cunicularia ) seen at Tuscan Preserve back in February of 2010 when a group of concerned birders installed eight artificial burrows on this property, to be preserved in perpetuity. This property is also a site with vernal pools and uses cattle grazing for vegetation control.
