Multitudes, hundreds of Brown Pelicans and Terns–Least, Common, Foster’s, Sandwich, Royal, and Caspian.

Prespa Lakes National Park, Greece: the largest Dalmatian Pelican colony in the world

Back to the Mikri Prespa , where mostly Dalmatian, with two White Pelicans among them, were circling, while one Short-toed Snake Eagle glided across. For longest lists, go there in May when migrants are still passing while the local breeders are active and visible. Dalmatian and White Pelicans (White = the black ones). Other taxa.

We went to settle into our room, and since I had about an hour to kill before dinner, I took a quick walk around the property. Sadly, I missed out on seeing White-tailed Eagles and Harlequin Ducks. However, service is limited during the off-season so we elected to take the longer, yet more scenic route.
