Corey’s Best Bird of the Weekend was a Barn Swallow that kept him company in a bird blind while Seaside Sparrows sang and Common Terns hunted in Wildwood, NJ. Humane Society Exposes Petland Practices

It has about 140 stores nationwide that sell puppies that supposedly come from "good" breeders (are any breeders good? Some of the breeders were found with sick or dead dogs in their cages. but that's another post.) Not so, says the Humane Society. Among the investigation findings.

So, like a football stadium named after an insurance company, the broadbill ended up bearing a name celebrating a sponsor. The Borneo-endemic Chestnut-crested Yuhina is a cooperative breeder – the vast majority of breeding pairs (97%) in a study conducted here at Mount Kinabalu had helpers.

Mr White was understandably angry and horrified that in the midst of all of this a British company seemed entirely happy to ship out fee paying customers to shoot Turtle Doves in a foreign country. Further research revealed two more companies in Britain and several others across Europe all engaged in the same shooting tourism.

The beautiful Red-bearded Bee-eater differs from most other bee-eaters in that it is not a colonial breeder but rather nests solitary or in pairs ( source ).
