Galápagos: A Natural History, Second Edition by John Kricher and Kevin Loughlin gives the traveling naturalist the tools needed to fully appreciate and experience the Galápagos Islands. There are changes in where to find the birds. I wish I had read this book. They complement Kricher’s text.,

If you know only a little bit about Charles Darwin, you know that he figured out Evolution via his study of the finches (and other birds) of the Galapagos. Today we view the Galapagos birds, including some finches and some mocking birds, as a great example of evolution. However, this is not the case with the Galapagos Tortoises.

There is also a great deal of biological and ecological information encapsulated within De Roy’s experiences. Fortunately, the authors’ website, Roving Tortoise Photos , gives attribution for 55 photos from this book, so I can say that all three authors are indeed incredible photographers. It is not an essential purchase.
